Guga Kuerten, a former World No. 1 tennis player, practices the DeRose Method and believes it is training that requires extra concentration. He explains: “I observe, in the practice, that one seeks a higher degree of physical performance, gained through concentration, breathing and so on. Tennis and the Method have a big similarity, because in reality, in sport you look to gain control of the situation and in this practice, you seek self-control. In both, you want things to be under control.”

Graciele Herrmann who represented Brazil at this summer’s London Olympic Games says: “The DeRose Method is helping me a lot with my training. I practice concentration and meditation, as these are essential to my performance in the pool.”

Antonio Antonioli is 26 years old, and he has been practicing Jiu Jitsu for 15 years and the DeRose Method for 5 years.

“In Jiu Jitsu competitions I have been Champion of Brazil, PanAmerica and Europe. I won the Rio International Open, the New York International Open and the Phoenix International Open, among several other titles.”

Antonio Antonioli, Ju Jitsu champion of Brazil, Pan America and Europe has been practicing the DeRose Method for 5 years. He explains: “I love all the DeRose Method techniques. At the beginning I practiced a lot because I felt the difference it made to my performance as an athlete. With time, I also began to cherish the conviviality with other practitioners and professionals of the DeRose Method. I became keen to study it and to attend the cultural activities as well. Every time I travel to compete or to present seminars I meet new and old friends that represent the DeRose Method around the world

Some of the world’s best athletes find their competitive edge by training the DeRose Method.
Those who practice the method follow a programme of breathing re-education, choreographed physical positions and relaxation exercises, as well as a method of ‘cold’ stretching that is very efficient and guarantees protection against sprains.
